Park Stud announced that the Phipps Family bred and raced Survivalist, a royally-bred, Graded Stakes winning son of Leading Sire Danzig, out a full-sister to Seeking the Gold, has been retired and will enter stud at park Stud in Ontario, Canada.

A brilliant miler, Survivalist won the one mile Gotham Stakes (G3) at Aqueduct and was first or second in 10 of 15 career starts including a second place finish in the $1,000,000 Grade 1 Wood Memorial. Survivalist broke his maiden in spectacular fashion at Belmont as a two-Year-Old, winning by 8 1/2 lengths. A Stakes winner at 3 and 4, Survivalist retires with career earning of $478,920.

“There has not been a horse to retire to Canada with as much promise as Survivalist in many years,” said Mike Byrne, owner of Park Stud. Danzig is the sire of nearly 200 Stakes winners and an exceptional sire of sires including Danehill and Langfuhr among many others. We are fortunate and delighted to have a horse of this caliber coming to park Stud. With his pedigree, race record and looks we expect him to be extremely popular.
