Sunday’s Best Bet:   1 – INFAMOUS COVERT – Race 1

Sunday’s Longshot Play:  3- A THREAD OF BLUE – Race 8

RACE 1:  1- INFAMOUS COVERT; 5 – TRIZMO;  3- JUST START ME UP; 6 – ARGENTIUM

This is a non-winners of 3 lifetime race at 1 1/16 miles and while he is making his first start of the year, Infamous Covert looks very good in this spot. He met very tough rivals after his win over non-winners of 2 last fall and then sprinted in his finale. Trizmo is working well for trainer Patrick County, Jr.

RACE 2:  3- SING DIXIE;  10 – SPANISH PRINCE; 2- BARTICA;  9 – OPEECHEE

RACE 3:    8- THE ARCHANGEL;  4 – INDY CHAMPAGNE;  1- ANTIHERO;  3 – ANDROMANCHE

The Archangel is a half sister to Kentucky Derby winner I’ll Have Another and a full sister to a Grade 3 winner, Golden Award. This gal debuted at Gulfstream on the grass for Hall of Fame trainer Roger Attfield and she was slow to begin and had some traffic trouble.  She could be good enough for this field but Indy Champagne, a 4-year-old, has a maturity and experience edge and Antihero is bred for the longer distance.

RACE 4:  2 – JUSTIN’S WAY;  3- BE LIKE CLINT;  7 – ALLEGORICAL; 12- LOBBY BAR

The Pick 4 begins with a wide open turf sprint and you may want to use a few in this race. Justin’s Way has the best recent form and likes grass. Longshot Be Like Clint is working well and deserves another chance on the grass based on his breeding. Allegorical has good main track form but not a lot of strong turf breeding. Lobby Bar has a wide post but ran very well in his grass debut last year.

RACE 5:  7 – GIOVANNINO; 4- KEROUAC; 5- GOLDEN BURN; 3- BIG SHOOTER

This maiden race is at 1 1/16 miles and while it is a Tapeta event, many of these will look on the grass later on.  New to Woodbine is Giovannino who just missed winning a turf race at Tampa Bay Downs in February and  3 horses behind him all have come back to win in their next starts. Big Shooter is a half brother to Kentucky Derby winner Big Brown.

RACE 6:   – RELOAD’S REBEL;  2- PAT’S GAMBLE; 5 – SOCIETY’S THUNDER;  9 – CLIVE CROSS

This is a big field of maidens going 6 furlongs and there are many first-time starters who have been working fast. reload’s Rebel is a 5-year-old and his full brother Reload’s Rascal won his first 2 career starts impressively last year. Patrick Husbands has been lured to ride. Pat’s Gamble also has some nifty workout times. Society’s Thunder will be tough if he runs close to his debut effort from more than a year ago. Clive Cross,  4-year-old, has some good workout times.

RACE 7:   9 – HOMER SCREEN (BRZ);  10 – SILVER PEAK;  1- TECUMSEH’S WAR; 3- TAPSASIONAL

RACE 8 :  3 – A THREAD OF BLUE;   2 – DANCIN IN DA’NILE;   1- LIKE THE KING; 10 – WAR COURT

RACE 9:   3-CAUSIN MAYHEM;    10- WAR STRATEGY;  6 – BASKETBALL JONES; 7– MIDWAY MISCHIEF;  1- SCOOT DADDY;

RACE 10:   11 – STREET SERENADE;  8- BROTHER BELEN  5 – ENJOYTHESILENT;  6 – JIM’S HOPE; 7 – QUIET VISTA
