Sunday’s Best Bet: 9- RONDURE – Race 6
Sunday’s Longshot Play: 5- SAKE AND SUSHI – RACE 8
RACE 1: 4- TIPSY MOON; 7 – P.S. RISING STAR; 3- T’PRING; 6- ASHWICKEN
First time starter Tipsy Moon is working well enough for the Dave Cotey barn, according to workout times, to rate a chance in this modest maiden field.
RACE 2: 4- PIDIN; 6 – CANDY STREET; 3 – SEATTLE POINT; 2- ONE MORE RING
Pidin just about won his maiden last November and then he went off to Florida and was in some tough maiden races. He will be tough in his return to Woodbine.
RACE 3 – 3- LOVE TO RUN; 5- IMPROVISE (FR); 4- SILVER MAGNATIZED; 1- BUTTERED TOAST
Small field of fillies and mares go 1 1/16 miles and Love to Run had a tune up outing at Turfway Park in Kentucky and shippers from there are cleaning up. She also looks like a pace prospect in an event with little other speed. Improvise, bred by Her Majesty The Queen, has never raced in Canada or on synthetic but she had a quick workout on the surface on April 28.
RACE 4: 2- MALIBU SECRET; 8- ONE PUNCH CHARLIE; 7 – CRAFTY CONQUEST; 6 – TALL WATER
Old timer Malibu Secret rarely wins and this 5 furlong dash could be a bit short for him but there is some pace to run at and he ran well against the streaking Heals the Soul last time at Gulfstream Park.
RACE 5: 1- SIMCOE; 4 – THE THUNDERER ; 3 – DOLOS; 7- LANIGAN
This is a maiden special weight and the lightly raced Simcoe ran well in Florida last time behind Ontario bred Stanley House. Chiefswood Stable colt by Uncle Mo is improving.
RACE 6; 9- RONDURE; 3- ON THIN ICE; 8 – CONCEALED CARRY; 5- BOHEMIAN BOY
Stakes winner Rondure is in a cozy spot at a distance he quite likes (7 furlongs) and his return outing off a layoff at Turfway Park was quite good.
RACE 7: 3- FROSTED OVER; 5- MONEY PRINTER; 7 – CONGLOMERATE; 2- DUKE OF LOVE
Graded stakes winner Frosted Over returns as a 5-year-old as a gelding and he rates the edge in this allowance race.
RACE 8: 5- SAKE AND SUSHI; 8 – SOUPER SUNDAY; 6 MISS MOLLY LALOU; 10 – PRIVILEGED; 9 – MY GIRL GABBY
A wide open maiden race ends the Sunday card and speedy Sake and Sushi could hit the ticket at 15 to 1. Lots of possible speed so look for ‘Molly’ to be rolling late.
