SOVEREIGN AWARD FUN – ROYALE STYLE!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

For the second consecutive year, the Sovereign Awards, honouring the top horses and humans of 2017 in Canadian racing, will take place at the lovely PALAIS ROYALE on the waters of Lake Ontario.

Start time 5:30 p.m.

The evening, hosted by JASON PORTUONDO, will begin with fun and a feast followed by the awards beginning with the media categories.

If you cannot make it to the awards – it is expected that it will be streamed live  – check back for updates.

SPECIAL SOVEREIGN – SAM LIMA – HBPA, TORONTO THOROUGHBRED RACING CLUB, HORSE OWNER, FAN

GROOM AWARD – Alfredo Ramos, a native of Nicaragua, who began working with horses in Ontario in 1989. Ramos has worked for a host of trainers, and has been employed by Hall of Famer Roger Attfield since 2008.

HANDICAPPER AWARD – Michael Eisen, who captured Woodbine’s 2017 Player of the Year Award. Eisen was the former Microsoft Canada chief legal officer.
