The British Columbia racing season at Hastings Racecourse has its final day of racing on October 22 and the $50,000 Ascot Graduation Stakes and $50,000 Fantasy Stakes headline the nine-race card.
The race for leading trainer of the Hastings meeting will come down to the wire on closing day with Edgar Mendoza, who has 38 wins, and Barbara Heads, 37 wins; both have plenty of starters.
The Ascot Graduation, at 1 1/16 miles for 2-year-olds, has two starters each from Mendoza and Heads in the six-horse field.
