Josie Carroll added yet another chapter to her outstanding training career when she recorded her 1,000th victory on Sunday at Woodbine.

The conditioner earned her milestone triumph with LNJ Foxwoods’ Spinzar, a four-year-old son of Tapit, in the fourth race. The Kentucky-bred paid $12.30 for the win.

In 2006, Carroll became the first female trainer to win The King’s Plate, with Edenwold. She added a second win in the first jewel of the Canadian Triple Crown with the filly Inglorious in 2011.
