Woodbine Entertainment Group (WEG) is pleased to announce that free live video streaming of its thoroughbred simulcast is available on the Woodbine website.
To watch the races, fans simply visit the Woodbine website (http://www.woodbineracetrack.com/) and click on the ‘Watch Live Racing’ banner on the right hand side of the home page.
In addition to free video streaming, thoroughbred commentators and communications writers are now sharing thoughts, opinions and insights on the popular social media site Twitter. A live feed with recent Twitter updates is located to the right of the streaming video player to further enhance the customer experience.
The thoroughbred changes mirror the moves made on the standardbred side, earlier this summer, when the standardbred simulcast was made available on the Mohawk website.
The extra innovation came in time for many fans, bettors and horsepeople to catch Sportswriter’s victory in the $1.5 million Pepsi North America Cup on their computer screens.
The streaming is sponsored by HorsePlayer Interactive (HPI), Canada’s first and biggest Internet wagering service. Although visitors to the Mohawk site can see all live races that happen at Mohawk, HPI members get access to higher quality live streaming and replays from over 30 tracks per day from all over the world.
To access the live stream, visitors are required to download Microsoft Silverlight, the same platform used to power online coverage of this past February’s Winter Olympics from Vancouver. The one time download and installation process should take less than a minute for high-speed Internet users.
