Randall Lowe was back at Woodbine for a second time with his super fast Midshipman filly Lady Shipman this weekend and this time, it was a successful trip.
The Las Vegas resident was all smiles in the winner’s circle as he greeted Lady Shipman, who won her first graded stakes race at Woodbine yesterday in the Grade 3 Royal North. She ran fast too – posting a 99 Beyer Figure for the time of 1:07.70, just missing the course record.
Kiaran McLaughlin has trained Lady Shipman since late last year.
On the card yesterday we saw HOLLYWOOD HIDEAWAY win for the first time, well, cross the finish line first for the initial time, and he did it in a big way, winning with an 86 Beyer Figure on the grass in an allowance race. Bruce Lunsford is the owner and breeder and Barb Minshall trains this fellow who won a stake as a 2yo but was disqualified.
Barb also won the final race of the day with CONQUER THE COURSE, who took her maiden at 14 to 1 with a big rally for John Unger and Murray Shopiro.
HANTALOOP won with an 85 Beyer Figure in race 9 for Robert Evans and trainer Roger Attfield as the 3rd fastest race of the day.
