Dubai is underway – action heats up after lunch with World Cup and then Gulfstream card..Picks for RAINBOW 6 below..
HEAVY METAL has kicked off Dubai World Cup evening (morning over here) with a smashing win in the Godolphin Mile under jockey Ryan Moore.
The amazing 8-year-old by Exceed and Excel is a British bred local horse with 15 wins in 59 races and earnings now in excess of $1.6 million.
Heavy Metal began his career in 2012 in England and he was a Group 2 winner as a youngster. He has won three Group races before today’s victory.
Among the tracks he has won at – Brighton, Goodwood, Ascot, Redcar and in the last 3 seasons he has been in Dubai.
RAINBOW 6 – SEEKING A BIG BAG OF GOLD
It is a dream of horseplayers to hit the big one. Cash that big ticket. Perhaps today will be our day to get a nice piece of what should be a giant jackpot for the Rainbow 6 at Gulfstream (races 9 – 13).
A 20 cent base bet, it costs as much as how many horses you use in each leg.
I will take a chance with a ticket that looks something like this:
Race 9 – more maidens on the grass and one of my Best Bet’s of the day is RHOSE ISLAND (2) who had a nice debut outing despite trailing a slow pace early in that Feb 24 race; a difficult race otherwise, will consider WISELY, DAWOOD and ART COLLECTION also.
Race 10 allowance race at 7 furlongs on dirt – big field, very tricky race also – like READY FOR RYE based on class and freshening but have to use others like RICHARD THE GREAT, WEEKEND HIDEAWAY AND OUTPLAY.
Race 11 – The Honey Fox Stakes on turf, a Grade 3 – STORMY VICTORIA is fresh and won a stake at GP in January but use entrymate LULL, canadian trained GRIZZEL and ON LEAVE.
Race 12 – Gulfstream Oaks Grade 2, TAKE CHARGE PAULA, PRINCESS WARRIOR and CACHE are on my short list.
Race 13 – Pan American, 1 1/2 miles on turf – SADLER’S JOY is a monster, he won his season debut with flair but he is always dependent on a trip. So also use HI HAPPY and BIGGER PICTURE and MARKITOFF
race 14 – Florida Derby – STRIKE POWER, CATHOLIC BOY and AUDIBLE.
Good luck!
