Husbands won his fourth Woodbine riding title with 149 victories. The four-time Sovereign Award-winning jockey, who scored his previous championships in 1999, 2000 and 2002, also took the purse earnings mark with $9,173,369. Emma-Jayne Wilson was second with 129 wins, while Emile Ramsammy and Tyler Pizarro tied for third with 124 wins.
Casse took his second Woodbine training title with 84 wins, while establishing a Woodbine purse earnings record of $5,589,480. He also won the 2002 championship. Sid Attard was second this year with 60 wins, while Robert Tiller was third with 53.
Melnyk Racing Stables Inc., for whom Casse won 12 races, topped Woodbine’s owner standings for the first time with purse earnings of $2,030,805. Sam-Son Farm was second with $1,905,520. Tucci Stables was third with $1,594,014. Stronach Stables had the most wins among owners with 29.
Once again, the winner of the Grade 1, $2 million Pattison Canadian International, Cloudy’s Knight ($38.70) in 2007, led all horses at the meet with $1.44 million in earnings.
