If you were up early enough on Monday morning you would have seen the world’s top-ranked racehorse KA YING RISING (NZ) roll to his 19th consecutive victory as he took the Sprint Cup (G2) at Sha Tin. The six-year-old gelding by Shameexpress – Missy Moo by Per Incanto tracked front-runner Stellar Express early in the six furlong turf dash and then flew past under Zac Purton to win easily.

Ka Ying Rising set his fourth course record at Sha Tin, lowering the six furlong mark from 1:07.20 to 1:07.12.

“The faster they go, the better he is,” said Purton after the race.
