The Board of Directors of LongRun Thoroughbred Retirement Society is pleased to announce that the 2015 Lana Hershel Sniderman Award (formerly named the Volterra Award) will be presented to Sam-Son Farm and the Samuel/Balaz family at LongRun’s gala fundraiser, “Prancing With the Stars”, on the evening of September 25th.
This prestigious award has been presented to deserving members of Ontario’s racing community for their ethical treatment of their thoroughbreds, both during and after their careers at the track, as well as for their ongoing support of LongRun. Past recipients have been the Krembil family’s Chiefswood Stables, Eurico Rosa Da Silva, Gustav Schickedanz, Steve Stavro and Frank and Elfriede Stronach, all of whom have not only made generous contributions towards the aftercare of LongRun’s retirees, but have also set wonderful examples and put powerful ideas in motion for our industry to follow.
LongRun is pleased to be able to honour Sam-Son Farm in front of its peers at what promises to be a fun-filled Hollywood-themed evening under Woodbine’s trackside tent. For further information and tickets, please contact the LongRun office at 416-675-3993 ext. 1-3440 or at info@longrunretirement.com.
