The 38th Breeders’ Cup will have a total of 14 Championship races (thirteen Grade 1 with the Juvenile Turf Sprint as the lone Grade 2) spread over two days of racing with $30 million in purse money on the line. Friday, November 5th is billed as “Future Stars Friday” featuring all 5 Championship races for juveniles on the same card, starting with the $1 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (G2) and highlighted by the $2 million TVG Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1).

Saturday November 6th will have nine Grade 1 races for older horses headlined by the $6 million Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) at 1 1/4 miles. The Championships will be held at Del Mar Thoroughbred Club in San Diego County, California, for a second time, the first in 2017.
