The Woodbine-based team are settled in at Keeneland in Lexington. KY and on Tuesday morning, Nov. 1, Canada’s top horse, the filly MOIRA, bred in Ontario by Adena Springs, had her first feel of the Keeneland surroundings as did her stablemate, the 2-year-old filly LAST CALL.

Moira, winner of the Queen’s Plate, Woodbine Oaks, and a flying second in the Grade 1 E.P. Taylor, a well-documented outing that saw her disqualified from second to eighth, drew post position 12 in the 12-horse Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf (G1) on Nov. 5. The 1 3/16 mile grass race has a purse of $2 million. Frankie Dettori will ride Moira for the first time and she is listed at 10-to-1 in the morning line behind favoured NASHWA, who is 5-to-2.

“She had a mild jog this morning then a 1 1/4 mile gallop,” said trainer Kevin Attard on Breakfast at the Breeders’ Cup. “She seems to have settled in well.”
