Zenyatta, the Thoroughbred racing superstar, will be featured on CBS’s “60 Minutes” news program on Sunday, October 31. The show will feature taped footage of Zenyatta’s workouts with exercise rider Steve Willard and jockey Mike Smith in preparation for the Breeders’ Cup, which will take place at Churchill Downs in Louisville, KY, on November 5 and 6. The mare, who is undefeated in 19 starts, will likely be the favourite in the $5,000,000 Breeders’ Cup Classic, where she will attempt to repeat last year’s victory over the boys.
Zenyatta, who is owned by Jerry and Ann Moss of A & M records fame, is based at Hollywood Park in Inglewood, CA, with trainer John Shirreffs. She is named after the best-selling album by the Police, Zenyatta Mondatta.
