Plenty of familiar former racehorses to Canadians are in action this week at the Kentucky Horse Park for the annual Thoroughbred Makeover Competitions.
These events (dressage, western, hunter jumper etc.) are for horses that have been in training for these events for 10 months of less.
A list of all of the Canadian owners is below. Among those with big scores in their respective events include FAIRLY OBVIOUS, ridden by Lindsay Partridge in Ranch Work and Freestyle. Melia Blakely and PIAZZA TIME have done well in Competitive Trail Riding and, like most of these horses, Piazza Time, by Bullet Train is for sale.

What a great week. I could not be more proud of this horse. She gave me her everything. First time schooling cross country. First big show. First obstacle show. First time travelling alone. First time doing a legit jumper course. And she nailed every.single.part. of it. She was brave, and willing, and responsive, and listening. She asked questions and listened to my answers. She allowed me to ride, and I allowed her to make some of her own decisions. We worked as a team and I am so thrilled.
Dozens of Canadians prepared their horses for the big trip to Kentucky including a group of women calling themselves the Hayloft Sweethearts. The team has Apache Gal, ‘Bella’ and while the mare had missed some time before the event, she accomplished a lot in the Hunter Jumper category.
