In just her fourth career ride, AILSA MORRISON settled Gary Wellwood’s Dot’s Last Call off the pace and then guided him around rivals on his way to an easy win in a 1 1/16 mile race at Fort Erie, October 8. Morrison, a 10-pound apprentice who rode her first race at Woodbine last weekend, did not have a whip on the Scott Fairlie trainee.

From New Brunswick, Morrison was riding her brother’s pony when she was just four years old and, coming from a horsey and eventing family, was riding cross-country eventing as early as age seven.

The resident of Belle River, ON rode in many major eventing competitions before pursuing a career as a jockey.
