David Anderson’s ANDERSON FARMS, Agent sold a colt by Constitution – Disobedient, by Into Mischief at the fourth session of Keeneland’s September Yearling Sale on Thursday for $825,000, one several Ontario-breds to go through the ring in the first few days of the auction.
The Constitution colt is a half brother to this year’s graded stakes winning filly Luv Your Neighbour, also an Ontario bred, and stakes placed Faber, a recent winner for Anderson. The buyers were CHC INC., Maverick Racing and Light Post Ventures.
Keeneland’s 83rd September Yearling Sale wrapped up Week 1 on September 17 with gross through-the-ring sales for the first four days of $318,115,000 for 633 horses and a record 65 horses bringing $1 million or more. The high seller came Tuesday when Glennwood Farm, agent, sold a colt by Into Mischief to M.V. Magnier and Peter Brant’s White Birch Farm for $3.7 million.
Week 1, which began Monday, Sept. 14, comprised a two-day Book 1 and a two-day Book 2 with more than 1,100 horses representing the sale’s highest concentration of sire power, pedigree and physical quality in the catalog. The gross to this point was 3.41% higher than $307,639,000 from the corresponding period last year while the average rose 9.61% from $458,478 to $502,551, and the median is up 2.86% from $350,000 to $360,000.
Anderson also sold a Nyquist filly – Bella Romance by Bernardini for $435,000 to Keith Plaisance.
Other Ontario breds to sell included an Elite Power – Duchess Dancer by Congrats for $335,000, consigned by Cara Bloodstock for breeder Mitchell Kursner. Eaton Sales sold a Forte filly from Singing Kitty for $200,000 to D.J. Stable on behalf of Track West while D.J. Stable also bought an Ontario bred by Charlatan – Unspured by Lemon Drop Kid for $275,000 from Cara Bloodstock, agent for Saintsbury Farm.
Flying Zee Stables, through McGreevy Sales, agent paid $325,000 for an Ontario bred by Gunite – In Jail by Into Mischief, sold by Norevale Farm, Agent.
Tall Oaks Farm of Ivan and Colleen Dalos sold a Golden Pal filly out of Golden Ami by Goldencents for $275,000 to Pink Oak Stable through Hill ‘n’ Dale at Xalapa, Agent.
Susan Y. Foreman as agent sold a Logins filly out of Diannecanretire by Tale of the Cat for $100,000 to X-Men Racing.
