The British Columbia Horse Racing Industry Management Committee will meet February 11, 2014, in Vancouver, to discuss the allocation of funding for 2014 and the number of races to be held at Hastings Racecourse this year. Discussions have been ongoing since September 2013, but the matter has yet to be resolved.
Horsemen in the Thoroughbred and Standardbred sectors have many questions including whom will pay for training and racing costs, how revenues will be split and how many races will actually take place this year. With the racing season set to begin in just a few short months, there are many issues that need to be resolved in order for the meet to proceed.
