A filly by Midnight Storm, a Grade 1 winner by Pioneerof the Nile, topped the BC CTHS yearling sale Tuesday, September 6. The dark bay gal was consigned by Whitewood Farm as agent and is a half-sister to BC champion 2-year-old filly Architecture from the winning mare Harmony Creator. The filly was bought for $46,000 by Swift Thoroughbreds.

The top colt at the annual sale was a $40,000 Midnight Lute yearling consigned by Wild Rose Farm of Bryan and Carol Anderson and bought by Peter Redekop, who bought four yearlings at the sale for $101,000.

In total, 48 yearlings sold for a gross of $638,600 for an average  of $13,304. That is down from last year’s sale when 64 sold for $1,065,500, an average of $16,648.

There were 22 RNAs, 4 withdrawals and 3 not sold. The median price of a yearling was $12,500
