Fresh off a successful day of racing on July 23 ‘Cup’ Day, Hastings Racecourse comes back with its popular BC Cup Day on Monday, August 1. Six stakes races worth a total of $300,000 highlight the eight-race card which begins at 2:00 Pacific.

Wagering on Cup Day last week was over $900,000 and fans crammed the Hastings grandstand for a dress-up, festival-type afternoon at the races.

On Aug. 1 the stakes races begin with the $50,000 BC Cup Debutante for 2-year-old fillies at 6 1/2 furlongs. Stakes-placed MS STANFORD, owned by Mauro Comensoli and trained by Dino Condilenios, and debut winner STOPSHOPPINGSHELLY, owned by MJD Sables and trained by Demetris Topouzis, are contenders in the Debutante.
