HARD NOT TO LOVE, a Canadian/Ontario-bred Grade 1 winner, gets her racing career going again on Jan. 9 at Santa Anita, fittingly in the La Canada Stakes (G3).

The one-eyed mare, a talented daughter of Hard Spun and from the mare Loving Vindication (Vindication) and thus a half-sister to Horse of the Year Wonder Gadot, seeks her first win around 2 turns in the 1 1/16 mile race.

Now 5, Hard Not to Love, bred by Anderson Farms in St. Thomas, bypassed the Breeders’ Cup races last fall following a second-place finish in the Grade 2 Zenyatta Stakes in September.

She won two graded stakes at Santa Anita in the last year, including the Grade 1 La Brea in Dec. 2019.
