The 2024 Canadian Champion three-year-old male, DRESDEN ROW (Lord Nelson), is in the current January Digital Sale from Fasig-Tipton which opened for bidding on January 15. The flashy chestnut five-year-old horse is being offered as a horse of racing age by agent Jeffrey Bloom, who co-owns with Keith Johns’ True North Stable.
Dresden Row, who won the Grade 3 Autumn Stakes at Woodbine in his most recent race, is also a strong contender for Champion Older Male Main Track for 2025 at the Jockey Club of Canada’s Sovereign Awards in April.
Currently turned out in Kentucky, Dresden Row won the Ontario Derby (G3) and Durham Cup (G3) as a three-year-old. In total, the horse has won six of 15 races and over $448,000. “I manage all of Keith’s holdings and he has some two-year-olds coming up and some younger horses through a breeding program and I said ‘you might want to take a look at an enormous opportunity in such a hot market place, putting Dresden Row in the digital sale.'”
Bloom purchased Dresden Row, who is a half-brother to Fall Highweight Handicap (G3) winner Hopeful Treasure, for $70,000 from the Ocala April Two-year-old in Training Sale in 2023.
“Dresden Row is an old-school racehorse,” said Bloom on the Fasig-Tipton digital platform. “He has never been out of the money, and he has been managed perfectly by trainer Lorne Richards. There is a lot of upside to this horse.”
Bidding on the horses in the sale continues through January 20. You can check out the catalogue here.
