David Anderson’s Anderson Farms sold three yearlings for a total of $1.2 million in the midst of Keeneland’s giant September yearling sale that continues this week.

Through 8 sessions (taking us into Book 4) a litany of Canadian-Ontario breds have been offered for sale with some changing hands and a great deal being bought back.

The Anderson consignment was topped by a Nyquist colt (pictured above)  that brought a bid of $500,000 from Sapphire Stable. The colt is out of Flawless Diamond, dam of stakes winners Blue Heart and Financial Recovery.

Sean and Dorothy Fitzhenry sold a filly by Malibu Moon from their good mare Dixie Chickem for $350,000 through agent Keith Lancaster.

There 29 from the list below that were not sold in the auction ring.

On the Buyer’s list, Chris de Palma, agent for Kingfield Farm and Catherine Day Phillips purchased several yearlings that will race at Woodbine and partnerships are available. Topping the six purchased by Kingfield is a $300,000 Pioneer ofthe Nile colt out of Grade 1 winner Iotapa by Afleet Alex.

WINDHAVEN, owned by the late Bill Graham, sold a $350,000 yearling colt by Nyquist – Moon Music, by Malibu Moon to DJ Stable.
Graham had purchased the mare Moon Music in foal to Nyquist in 2017 at Keeneland November.
