Yearling sale season begins on Tuesday, July 11, at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky sales grounds in Lexington.
A number of Canadian breeders and consignors are wasting no time putting their young horses up for auction. Susan Foreman and Bernard McCormack’s Cara Bloodstock are two consignors with Canadian-breds in the one-day auction which begins at 10 a.m.

And, just in time for the sale, a colt from the first crop of the Uncle Mo stallion Caracaro, bred by Katie Browne and Brian Bell and offered by Foreman, had a big catalogue update.
The two-year-old half-brother to Browne and Bell’s colt Ravin’s Town was second by a nose in a fast maiden allowance race in his career debut at Hawthorne in Chicago on the weekend. The dam of the two horses is Dance Play, by Malibu Moon, whose first foal, Ramber, has earned over $145,000.
Browne and Bell have a training centre in Ontario and began forming their own small broodmare band a few years ago. Browne is the head outrider at Ajax Downs and owns many track ponies. Bell is the leading rider at the Quarter Horse track.
McCormack offers yearlings for Jay and Christine Hayden’s Saintsbury Farm including a Good Magic out of Bola de Cristyal (Ire), by Galileo. This colt’s four-year-old half-brother Gaston is now a three-time winner who was third in the Grade 3 Dominion Day Stakes at Woodbine on July 1.
PAUL BRAVERMAN offers his first Ontario-bred yearling, a dark bay colt by top sire Munnings from the mare Winning Scoop by Bernardini. The colt is a half-brother to four winners including allowance sprinter Manolito.
