MILTON, August 20 – It is with great sadness that Sam-Son Farm announces the death of Canadian and U.S. champion and Hall of Fame member, Dance Smartly.
Dance Smartly was euthanized on the weekend after suffering an irreparable injury in her paddock, related to an arthritic stifle. Dance Smartly was not in foal and her last foal is a two-year-old filly by Gone West. She has been buried at Sam-Son Farm in Milton, Ontario.
“Dance Smartly was a once-in-a-lifetime horse,” said Tammy Samuel-Balaz, President, Sam-Son Farm. “She was magic and gave us incredible thrills as both a racehorse and a broodmare. While we were fortunate enough to have bred and owned her, she truly was Canada’s horse.”
