Beau Valley Stable, announced that it has acquired a significant ownership share in the 2014 Prince of Wales Stakes winner, 2017 Panamanian Champion Horse of the Year and Central America winner of the Grade I Clasico Presidente de la Republica, Coltimus Prime.
“We are thrilled to have Coltimus Prime, the heir to Milwaukee Brew, standing at stud and representing Western Canada,” said Michael Hoffman, Trainer and Manager of Beau Valley Stable located in Didsbury, Alberta. “Bringing a young sire to the Western Canada market is a fresh change and it aligns with the excitement of the two new world class racing facilities that we have North of Calgary, Century Downs and Century Mile, the only 1 mile oval track in the West, located in close proximity to Edmonton International Airport.”
Coltimus Prime has career earnings of approximately $850,000 and he has run the fastest Prince of Wales Stakes in over 25 years. He has demonstrated his versatility in winning on dirt and synthetic tracks from distances of 5 1/2 furlongs to a mile and 5/16ths.
He is by Milwaukee Brew out of Certainly Special by Distorted Humor and hails from the direct female line of Ballade, the family of Horse of the Year Glorious Song and leading sires Singspiel, Rahy, Devil’s Bag and Saint Ballado.
Milwaukee Brew was recently retired from stud duty by Adena Springs North.
“We expect Coltimus to arrive in Alberta shortly and we will be announcing his 2020 stud fee soon” added Hoffman.
