It was a fourth victory in the Group 1, $12 million Dubai World Cup for both trainer Bob Baffert and jockey Frankie Dettori, with the latter timing his ride to perfection aboard the game Country Grammer, a son of Tonalist – Arabian Song by Forestry. The Saudi Cup runner-up hunted down longtime leader Life Is Good in the final furlong of the 2000-metre dirt contest to win by a length and three-quarters.

Country Grammer was originally a $60,000 yearling purchase by Brooke Hubbard, agent at the 2018 Keeneland September sale from breeders Scott and Debbie Pierce. The bay colt was then sold as a 2-year-old in training for $450,000 (OBS April Sale 2019) to Bradley Thoroughbreds. He raced for the late Paul Pompa and trainer Chad brown, winning his maiden in 2019 and the Grade 3 Peter Pan Stakes in 2020 at Saratoga.

Country Grammer was then sold at the Pompa dispersal in the 2021 January Keeneland Horses of Racing Age sale for $110,000 with WinStar being the buyer. He raced just twice in 2021 winning the Grade 1 Gold Cup at Santa Anita before going on a long vacation. He returned in February 2022 and was second by half a length to Embless Road in the Saudi Cup.
