There are 41 yearlings catalogued for the 2025 CTHS Manitoba Yearling Sale which will be held on August 24 at the new CTHS sales pavilion at Assiniboia Downs. Viewing of yearlings begins on Aug. 22.
There are Manitoba-, Ontario- and Saskatchewan-breds in the sale.
Among the youngsters of interest will be hip number 32, a gelding by Manitoba sire Speculating (Medaglia d’Oro) from the Manitoba Horse of the Year Hidden Grace. This is the first foal of Hidden Grace, who won 18 races and over $403,000. Hidden Grace is by Going Commando and she is a full sister to Manitoba Horse of the Year Melisandre. The yearling is part of the Ziprick Thoroughbreds, agent consignment which has five entered in the sale including another gelding by Speculating and a half-brother to 2024 Horse of the Year No Show No Call.
Speculating has a number of yearlings in the sale and his first crop of runners are three-year-olds of 2025.
Another sire who is well represented is Nonios and in the sale is a full sister to Nonios’ champion of 2024, Mechanic Susie. Consigned by Larry Falloon, the filly from the mare Quantum Mechanics, by Einstein (Brz) is hip number 2.
Among the Ontario-breds in the sale is a Frac Daddy colt out of Copenhagen Cowgirl by More Than Ready. Hip number 23 is a half-sibling to good winners Artie, Connor and O Wow. The yearling is offered by 2 Points Ranch.
Two Saskatchewan-breds are supplements to the catalogue: hip number 41, a colt by Kantharos and hip 42, by leading Canadian sire Fed Biz.
