Todd passed away suddenly in hospital on March 27. He has been a leading owner and trainer at Hastings Racecourse for years and has a farm in Kentucky with mares and foals.

One of Todd’s last runners, Red Bottom Rebel (Chitu) was a 12-length winner at Turf Paradise on Tuesday, April 19 with trainer Sandi Gann. That 5-year-old mare was claimed from the victory.

Todd’s Grade 3 BC Derby winner FIVE STAR GENERAL, a 6-year-old horse by Distorted Humor – Party of Interest by Bernardini, is among the horses offered for sale. The Kentucky-bred, who has had two workouts at Hastings Racecourse this spring, is a winner of seven races from 18 starts and $310,174.

Five Star General was a two-time winner in 2021 and was third in the Grade 3 Longacres Handicap at Emerald Downs.

PRINCESS CAIRO, a multiple stakes-winning 5-year-old mare by Cairo Prince, is also working at Hastings, as is stakes-placed Broad Approval. There are 14 juveniles in the dispersal.
