With four winners before the start of the Nov. 23 week of racing, trainer Martin Drexler went past his personal best mark of 70 winners at the Woodbine meeting, now at 74 with four weeks left in the season.

NEOPHTYE was winner #71 followed by the mare SENSE YOU LEFT, speedster BORDER TOWN, and recent claim TIDAL FORCES on Sunday. Border Town posted a 100 Beyer Speed Figure for his front-running score on Saturday in an allowance race at 7 furlongs, 1:21.08. The son of War Front is owned by A Bianco Stables.

Drexler is second to Mark Casse on the leading trainer list and Kevin Attard is third with 61 wins. Drexler is winning at a 24 percent rate. Julia Carey is one of the leaders of the meeting by win percentage at 25 along with Joe Russo, who is also at 25.

Trusty claiming runner KID FORESTER, owned by Josie DePaulo and trained by Mike DePaulo, took firm hold of the inside speed-biased track at Woodbine last week when he won a claiming race by 6 1/4 lengths. The son of Old Forester, who sports a big white blaze, had a perfect trip behind two speed duelers and then rolled up the rail under Sophia Vives to win in 1:09.89, good for a huge 94 Beyer Speed Figure. That 94 is far and away the biggest number of Kid Forester’s career.

The seven-year-old was bred by Denny Andrews and he was winning for $7,500 claiming.

Two races later on that same day (Friday), BACHELOR PAD posted a 90 Beyer Figure with a lopsided win at 7 furlongs in 1:22.29. The son of Not Bourbon is owned by Bruno Schickedanz and trained by Norm McKnight.
