EARHART (Fr), one of the most exciting horses to race at Woodbine in 2024, will make her stakes debut on Saturday night at Turfway Park in Florence, KY. Earhart is the 5-to-2 morning line favourite for the $125,000 Likely Exchange Stakes at 1 mile on Tapeta.

Racing was expected to return to Turfway on Friday after the Thursday card was canceled due to heavy snow and bitterly cold temperatures.

Earhart, trained by Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame member JOSIE CARROLL and owned by LNJ Foxwoods, is two-for-two in her career which began on November 9. The then-three-year-old had had some starts and stops along the way to her debut, but her morning workouts caught the attention of anyone who was at Woodbine in the late summer and early fall.

Earhart won her debut with ease and put up an 86 Beyer Speed Figure. She came back on Dec. 7 and won by 11 lengths with a 96 Beyer Figure, speeding seven furlongs in 1:21 4/5.

Now four, the daughter of Siyouni (Fr) – Aviatress (Ire) by Shamardal has had three workouts at Turfway Park under Luis Contreras, who gets to ride the filly for the first time this weekend. Rafael Hernandez rode Earhart to her first two wins and he does ride in the Turfway card on Saturday.

Earhart has drawn post position 2 in what will be a 12-horse field before scratches. Turfway Park stakes winner Everland is 3-to-1 and in post 12.

The Likely Exchange is race 6 and post time is 8:25 p.m.

The following race at Turfway, race 7, is just as intriguing, as Canadian-bred stakes winner RONDURE is up against 2023 Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint winner NOBALS, who just won the Kennedy Road Stakes (G2) at Woodbine in November. Borders Racing Stables Ltd. owns Rondure and he has been second in both tries at Turfway in his career.
