The mighty mare ENABLE goes for her third PRIX DE L’ARC DE TRIOMPHE Sunday at Longchamp and her task got a bit easier Thursday morning when second favourite LOVE was withdrawn by trainer Aidan O’Brien due to the projected soft footing.
Love, the Epsom Oaks winner, will now point to the Breeders’ Cup Turf at Keeneland in November.
Enable was upset in last year’s Arc by Waldgeist on soft turf.
Epsom Derby winner SERPENTINE was supplemented to the Arc. THE SPORTING LIFE has a an analysis of the field here.
A ‘soft turf’ horse-by-horse assessment from Racing Post can be found here.
