The Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society Ontario will be hosting an on-line Mixed sale this fall and entries are being accepted now. This will be the first digital sale for the CTHS and bidding will be open from November 21 to 26. Weanlings, yearlings, horses of racing age, broodmares and stallion seasons can be entered.
Colleen Dalos, vice-president of CTHS Ontario and president of Tall Oaks Farm, said the digital sale is an exciting addition to the CTHS sale calendar.
“Sales are evolving with the changing landscape and we need to be innovative with the times,” said Dalos. “We are excited for our first digital sale in Ontario and see many benefits for our buyers and sellers.”
Safety for horses and convenience are just two benefits of a digital sale, said Dalos. “The digital sale provides ease of use and is cost-effective by taking away the expense of traveling for both the buyer and the horse, plus a lower entry fee. As a broodmare owner and breeder, I see that this is better for the broodmares by reducing stress and any risk from shipping.”
