PRINCE SUSSEX flew to victory in his career debut at Woodbine on October 24 and was the first winner, and first starter, for Ontario sire PRINCEPS SENATUS, a son of Unbridled’s Song.

Trained by Jamie Attard for Kanny Ng, Prince Sussex was 16-to-1 in the maiden claiming race and drew off to a 1 1/4 length win at 5 1/2 furlongs. The bay gelding, bred by Ng, is from the Fastness (Ire) mare Gigi’s Speed.

Princeps Senatus raced for Craig Singer and was trained by Josie Carroll throughout his career that saw him win a turf race at Gulfstream Park in 2016. Purchased for $13,000 by Ng at the Keeneland November sale later that year, Ng stands stallions at his Silver Fox Stallions which is part of his Castle Peak Farm in Ashton, Ontario.

Princeps Senatus is from the mare Jealous Wildcat who is also the dam of Grade 1 winner Evita Argentina. Jealous Wildcat is a daughter of Jealous Appeal, the dam of Trippi, a Grade 1 winner and successful stallion.
