The 39th Breeders’ Cup World Championships begins Friday, Nov. 4 with Future Stars Friday followed by nine races on Saturday. The main star of the show is FLIGHTLINE, the son of Tapit who has never been beaten in five career races since he debuted this spring.
The colt has attracted hundreds of fans just to his workouts and he figured to be heavily favoured in the Classic even with the presence of Epicenter, Olympiad, Rich Strike, Life Is Good and Hot Charlie.
Flightline’s scar on his hip and white hairs on the right side of his neck have also attracted attention. The scar is from a two-year-old accident in which he backed into a stall latch. The white hairs are from where a port was placed to give him antibiotics during his treatment for that accident.
