Frac Daddy, who was retired from racing in July, will stand at Michael and Laurel Byrne’s Park Stud, in Mono, Ontario, in 2016.
The five-year-old by Scat Daddy, out of the Skip Away mare Skipper’s Mate, had a total of $701,236 in career earnings. He was retired after sustaining a suspensory injury.
Frac Daddy was bred by the Nancy M. Leonard Living Trust in Kentucky, and trained by Ken McPeek. He was purchased by the Magic City Thoroughbred Partners at Keeneland in 2011 for $50,000 from Eaton Sales, and ran under their banner throughout his career.
He was known on the track for his exceptional speed, finishing on average with a margin of nearly five lengths. He has also proven his versatility with good form on dirt, turf and synthetic racing surfaces.
He has an impressive list of accomplishments, including five wins and seven second place finishes in 20 starts. As a four-year-old, he won the Ben Ali Stakes (gr. III) at Keeneland and the Eclipse Stales (Can-II) at Woodbine. He was second in the Arkansas Derby (gr. I) and Commonwealth Turf Stakes (gr. IIIT) as a three-year-old, and second in the Kentucky Jockey Club (gr. II) in his two-year-old season.
Frac Daddy stud fee is listed as $4,000.
