Race 6- Post time 2:30 $1 million BREEDERS’ CUP JUVENILE TURF SPRINT; 5 1/2 furlongs; turf

Speed is the name of the game for the youngsters in the first Breeders’ Cup race.

Will pick against the favourite in this dash but it will be a stablemate.

(11) INTO THE SUNRISE is a big colt who cuts back from 1 1/16 miles and in his previous race he ran fast in the late stages of the Soaring Free Stakes at Woodbine (6 fur. in 107 4/5), landing second by a neck. Might be able to get past heavily favoured (14) GOLDEN PAL who just won a 5 1/2 furlong turf dash stake at Saratoga in 1:00 4/5, sizzling. His post is tricky. (6) UBETTABELIEVEIT was impressive in his Flying Childers Stakes win at Doncaster Sept. 11, bulling his way through juveniles to win at 40 to 1.  (5) COWAN has to hurry but he has speed to run at. (13) SECOND OF JULY has won two sprints on turf at Belmont including the Grade 3 Futurity at long odds and he is a stretch runner who may have a wide trip.

Race 7 – $1 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf; 1 mile; turf

The European colts look a little better than the North American guys and (2) NEW MANDATE had a vigorous gallop/blow out under Frankie Dettori on Thursday morning on the Keeneland turf and looked super. He has won 3 straight in England.

(9) BATTLEGROUND is impeccably bred by War Front from Breeders Cup Turf winning mare Found. He is 2 for 3 and has late power and Ryan Moore on board.

(11) GRETZKY THE GREAT is the Ontario-bred star who won the Grade 1 Summer Stakes and he has worked like the wind since then. This is his first try around 2 turns.

(1) SEALIWAY won a Group 1 in France by 8 lengths on very heavy going in his most recent and is 4 for 6 overseas.

(4) PUBLIC SECTOR had no chance in the Grade 2 Pilgrim when guzzled back behind a slow pace. Chad Brown trains.

Race 8 – $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies; 1 1/16 miles

Four undefeated fillies in this super field of 7.

(1) SIMPLY RAVISHING could give trainer Ken McPeek his first Breeders’ Cup win. She has speed and stamina and just won the Alcibiades at Keeneland by 6 lengths.

(3) DAYOUTOFTHEOFFICE is 3 for 3 like the pick and crushed fillies in the Frizette at Belmont in a huge move forward in speed numbers.

(7) PRINCESS NOOR is also 3 for 3, out in California, albeit with lower Beyer Figures.

(5) GIRL DADDY is sneaky good off a short layoff and a big Pocahontas win at Churchill.

Race 9 – $1 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf; 1 mile

There could be quite a bit of speed in this race

Scratched #7 Tetragonal and #15 Invincible Gal draws in.

I will go longshot shopping and take (3) ALDA who won at Woodbine in the Catch a Glimpse Stakes and then was second in the Win and You’re In Natalma Stakes. She is light in Beyer Figures but has a super stretch kick.

(5) AUNT PEARL is 2 for 2 and was fast and powerful in the Jessamine win at Keeneland last time.

Undefeated (4) PLUM ALI won the Miss Grillo with flair and an 82 Beyer Figure.

I have liked the look of (2) MISS AMULET  in the days since she arrived from England. Has three wins but has only sprinted.

(1) CAMPANELLE is 3 for 3 for Wesley Ward including wins in England and France and she tries a route distance for the first time.

Race 10 – $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile; 1 1/16 miles

At 7 to 5 in the morning line, the imposing (7) JACKIE’S WARRIOR is of little betting value but he is a monster with 4 wins in 4 races including 2 New York Grade 1’s. He is very fast, too, and should have control early.

(5) ESSENTIAL QUALITY has looked like a star all week and he is 2 for 2 and won the Breeders’ Futurity at Keeneland. Trainer Brad Cox has a loaded Cup barn this year.

(4) LIKEABLE is a 15 to 1 shot trained by Todd Pletcher who was going for 5,000 career wins today.

(3) REINVESTMENT RISK has been chasing Jackie’s Warrior in two Grade 1’s.
