One of the greatest horses in training right now and one of the best mares seen in Europe in years, ENABLE, was featured on a short video done by Racing Post yesterday.
The big, bay mare by Nathaniel has only lost once in 14 career races and she has won the last two Prix de l’Arc de Triomphes. There are eight, two-time winners of the Arc, horses such as the great Ribot. No horse has ever won three Arcs.
If you watched Enable last year at the Breeders’ Cup on very difficult grass at Churchill Downs, it was clear that this one of the top horses seem in the world in decades.
Among the top horses Enable will meet this year in the Arc is French Derby winner SOTSASS, a son of Siyouni and half brother to top US mare Sistercharlie.
Trainer John Gosden said of Juddmonte Farms’ 5-year-old:
“The Arc is looking like a very good race this year. You have Sottsass, the best three-year-old colt in France coming in as well as Japan the best three-year-old colt in Britain and Ireland.
Of the older brigade, he added: “In France you have Waldgeist who, if the ground remains like it is at the moment, will run a huge race as he’s never had his ground in the Arc and Andre (Fabre) tells me he’s working well and he won his trial well On top of that you have Ghaiyyath who won well in Germany last time so were fully aware of what the task involves.”
