Triggered by broad media discussion in the U.S.A. and spurred by the climate both within and outside our industry, which calls for heightened attention to equine welfare, the Board of Directors of the H.B.P.A. of Ontario have passed the following motion:

“The H.B.P.A. of Ontario is supportive of stopping the abuse of the medication clenbuterol and requests that the CPMA and AGCO take immediate action thereupon.

We feel that all owners and trainers deserve a level playing field and that bettors have the right to rely on the fairness of the races upon which they choose to wager.
