Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Vancouver for the next several days, forcing Hastings Racecourse to cancel its Monday, June 28 card of racing. The warning states “A dangerous long duration heat wave will affect B.C. beginning on Friday and lasting until at least Wednesday. Threat: Daytime highs ranging from 29 to 38 degrees Celsius.”
A seven-race card was drawn for Tuesday June 29 with a 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time first race post.
The BC-HBPA also issued a notice of a meeting for backstretch personnel on Friday June 25 in regards to the 2021 racing season.
