The track had confirmation of a lease extension for Hastings Racecourse with the City of Vancouver for five years recently and that has added stability to the industry.

“The term of the extension is for five years with a five-year option to renew thereafter,” Raj Mutti, Executive Vice President Operations for Great Canadian Gaming had announced earlier. “The thoroughbred industry has a long and storied history in B.C. and Great Canadian, in partnership with the City of Vancouver and the industry’s breed associations, feels the lease extension is an important stepping stone to ensuring sustainability of the industry long term.”
