To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, many of us are practicing social distancing or even self-isolation. You might find yourself feeling alienated, a little stir crazy, or even a little bored. This might be the perfect time to learn something new, enhance your knowledge, or add to your resume!

To get the course outlines and read more, visit the ‘Spring Training’ website.

Horse Racing Alberta is committed to the ongoing training for backstretch staff. An investment in knowledge pays the best interest, and educated grooms, riders, drivers, and trainers that are better educated can provide better quality care to our equine athletes.

Horse Racing Alberta has arranged for a unique opportunity for all licensees to access online equine education modules from the Olds College Racetrack Programs. The course modules are designed as an introduction to racehorses with practical information about equine evolution and domestication, racehorse management, equine nutrition, equine anatomy, even equine first aid.

Anyone with an HRA license from 2019 or 2020 can register for the course and can choose any of the individual modules or the full length course. The modules are self paced so you can move through the entire course or take what interests you at your convenience from the comforts of home.

Never taken an online course before? No problem! The modules are practical and flexible and no prior online learning experience is required.
