If you have worked with racehorses on the backstretch, then you know that anything can happen at any time with our beloved but sometimes flighty and unpredictable equines. (I remember, vaguely, landing in the hospital after the back leg of a horse I was bringing over to a race stepped on my foot, causing me to fall and the horse to kick my back!).

APRIL LEBLANC, who is well known on the Woodbine backstretch, was bringing over a horse for a race recently and it appears the filly she was leading made contact with her head with a leg.

The injuries were serious, but LeBlanc is now home and beginning her recovery. The track community has banded together to contribute money to a GoFundMe page as LeBlanc has her own farm to keep going (friends are helping her with those chores). The effort has, as of today, raised $27,267 raised of its $50,000 goal.
