Well over 200 people from B.C.’s racing industry came together at Vancouver’s Italian Cultural Centre on Wednesday evening to honour the very best performances of the 2022 racing season at Hastings. As well as the horses, there were awards for leading owners, breeders, trainers, riders and backstretch staff and the induction of trainer Robert Anderson, rider Richard Hamel and veterinarian Dr Ed Wiebe to the BC Horse Racing Hall of Fame.

The evening was hosted in typically smooth style by Hastings’ track announcer Dan Juckic and paddock analyst Mike Heads, with New Stride Thoroughbred Adoption Society on hand to raise money through the sale of 50-50 tickets and the auction of a racing print.

As expected, the magnificent racemare INFINITE PATIENCE (Sungold) took all before her, garnering four racing awards, including Horse of the Year (both BC and Open divisions). Her dam, Montero, was also named Broodmare of the Year.
