Interactive Stronger Together Live Q & A Session with Jim Lawson on Wednesday, April 15 at 2 p.m.

  • When can racing return to Woodbine and Woodbine Mohawk?
  • When can horses stabled at Woodbine start recording workouts again?
  • What will the racing seasons look like when they do start up again?

These are some of the most asked questions right now when it comes to horse racing in Ontario. And the toughest to answer.

Woodbine Entertainment CEO Jim Lawson will be available to take questions through a live, on-line installment of the popular STRONGER TOGETHER series of ‘town-hall’ type informational meetings with horsepeople, those who work in racing, media and more.

The Covid-19 pandemic has greatly impacted everything we do. From world economies to going to the store, everything is different right now. What’s the impact on horse racing at Woodbine?

Due to the Provincial Declaration of Emergency, Woodbine has temporarily suspended the Standardbred season at Mohawk Park, postponed the start of the Thoroughbred season and the 161st Queen’s Plate, but remains committed to stabling horses on the backstretch.

While we navigate through these unprecedented times, you’re invited to take part in an interactive, live, online Stronger Together video session with Woodbine CEO Jim Lawson. The session will take place on Wednesday, April 15 at 2 p.m. (ET) and is available to be viewed at Woodbine.com/events/Stronger-Together.

Hosted by on-air personality Jason Portuondo, Jim will provide updates, answer your questions and share his perspective on Covid-19’s impact on Woodbine including providing insight into some of the tough decisions made in light of this crisis. The audience will be able to ask questions by submitting them through the chat window next to the video or in advance through InTouch@woodbine.com.
