Multiple stakes winner LOST ARK, a son of Violence from the A.P. Indy mare Marion Ravenwood, will stand at Sherry McLean’s Northern Dawn Farm in Hillsburgh, ON for the 2025 breeding season.
The five-year-old stands for the Lost Ark Partnership and will have a fee of $4,000 live foal.
A $275,000 yearling purchase, Lost Ark raced for Harrel Ventures LLC and was trained by Todd Pletcher. The dark bay won his debut at Belmont Park by 5 1/2 lengths in a 5 1/2 furlong dirt sprint. He came right back and won the $203,000 Sapling Stakes at 1 mile at Monmouth Park by 7 1/2 lengths.
As a three-year-old, Lost Ark won his season debut at 1 1/16 miles and finished third in the 1 1/16 mile Grade 3 Saranac Stakes on the grass at Saratoga behind Carl Spackler. He then won the $485,000 Jockey Club Derby Invitational at 1 1/4 miles in the slop at Aqueduct.
Lost Ark retired with four wins from 11 races and earnings over $542,100.
His dam, Marion Ravenwood, a stakes winner, produced 2022 Champion three-year-old filly Nest, winner of the Coaching Club American Oaks and Ashland Stakes, among other races, and earner of over $2.1 million. Lost Ark is also a half-brother to Santa Anita Handicap winner Idol.
Lost Ark’s sire Violence, a leading sire, is also becoming known as a sire of sires, as his son Volatile was a leading freshman sire in 2024. Violence’s highly-rated sons Forte and Dr. Schivel are also newly at stud with fees of $45,000 and $10,000 respectively.
