The CTHS Ontario Mixed Sale returned after a one-year absence on October 29 at the Woodbine sales pavilion. A small catalogue of horses of all ages was on offer and the median price of the horses sold was up slightly from the 2019 sale.

A chestnut yearling filly by Maclean’s Music from the stakes placed mare Fancy Ribbons, by Perfect Soul (Ire) topped the sale at $40,000. Sold by Hill ‘n’ Dale Sales Agency, agent, which sold the top five horses at the auction, the filly is a half-sister to a winner and a placed runner this year from three foals of racing age. Rich Dynasty Ltd. was listed as the buyer.

The top mare was APPELLA, who brought a bid of $30,000 from Dr. Brett Anderson from the Hill ‘n’ Dale consignment. Appella, bred by the late Gus Schickedanz, is a stakes-placed winner by Silent Name (Jpn) from Thats Our Princess by Curlin. Appella was sold carrying her first foal, by Old Forester.
