Woodbine Entertainment Group (WEG) today announced the next mandatory payout dates for its Thoroughbred Jackpot Hi-5 wager.
The Jackpot Hi-5 will have a mandatory payout on the final race of the Saturday, December 6 card of racing at Woodbine. The carryover pool currently stands at $64,420.86 after being won on the November 19 programme.
The final race of the meet on Sunday, December 7 will also offer a mandatory payout on the Jackpot Hi-5.
The December 7 card at Woodbine features the $150,000 Valedictory Stakes.
The Jackpot Hi-5 has become a popular part of the WEG wagering profile since it launched in 2013. WEG last offered a mandatory payout event, with carryover, for the Thoroughbred Jackpot Hi-5 on the Queen’s Plate, in July, generating a total pool of $653,423.
The wager requires horseplayers to select the first five finishers in exact order, traditionally, on the last race of the program. The Jackpot proviso means that the entire pool pays out only when there is one winning ticket sold that correctly selects the first five finishers in exact order.
On December 6 and 7, the mandatory dates, the entire pool, including carryover, could be shared among multiple winners.
The Jackpot Hi-5, which offers a 15% takeout, is a 20-cent minimum bet.
Also, the guarantee for both the early and late Pick 4 on Sunday’s closing day card is set at $100,000.
