Offer big money and they will come. The $20 million put up for the Saudi Cup, Feb 29 at King Abdulaziz Racetrack, makes the race the richest in the world and it has lured some of the top horses in training in the US.

Among them is Champion 3-year-old of 2019, MAXIMUM SECURITY, owned by Gary and Mary West.

The 12 US horses were in quarantine for 48 hours before testing the track on Thursday.

Garrett Servis, son of trainer Jason, who received Saudi Cup favourite Maximum Security, said: “He travelled well. I was in touch with the grooms on the flight so I had regular updates. He drank half his water and ate half his feed. We will be out for a hand walk after he gets settled.”

The Saudi Cup not only has Maximum Security in the lineup, but Pegasus World Cup Invitational winner MUCHO GUSTO, the amazing filly MIDNIGHT BISOU, and California stakes star MCKINZIE.

There are 8 races in total on Feb. 29. On Feb 28 there is a jockey challenge which will feature Canadian riding star EMMA-JAYNE WILSON.

Some of the races on Feb. 29 will be shown on a Fox TV station in the US and plenty of racetracks will be offering wagering on the Feb. 29 races including Assiniboia Downs in Winnipeg. Woodbine is currently working on getting the races available on HPI.com.
